The place to share intel.

If you’re ready to attempt to assassinate another Spymaster, you can certainly attack anyone of your choosing, regardless of their level. Keep in mind, though, that levels aren’t all that important in assassination plots (ie. as a level 6 Spymaster I’ve wounded players as high as level 25). The user’s Spy Ring, Attack Sum, and Defense Sum are more likely to influence the outcome of an assassination attempt. You should also know that as a solo Spymaster with a small Twitter network, your assassination attempts are likely to fail. Choose wisely but remember that higher risk equates to higher gain.

If you wound or kill a Spymaster you’re likely to acquire a combination of experience, assets, Attack Sum, and Defense Sum. Attacking weak Spymasters is a futile effort because your gain will be minimal. Should you attack a worthy opponent with a medium to high risk, you’ll be rewarded handsomely when you succeed in wounding or killing them. Want to increase your chances of assassinating a Spymaster? Concoct ways to rally the troops against an enemy.

I'm brand new to spymaster and my question is about the Assassination screen. The top part is worthy adversaries (I get that) and teh bottom part is Spymasters in my network.

If they're spymasters in my network, why would I want to assassinate them? Are they not following me and part of my network?

Hey Rob!

Welcome to the site. Great question. In the game Spymaster you actually have the ability to assassinate any Spymaster player that you would consider to be a worthy adversary. The game is about having fun, so it actually also suggests players that follow you and happen to be in your spy ring for assassination attempts. It is wholly up to your judgment whether or not you choose to take that action.

Ok, I have a question. I understand that when assassinating someone, the traits that you're better at are in green and visa versa for your target. But WHY do I keep loosing when all my skills are better than theirs? This keeps happening to me and is a bit frustrating. Whats the point of building up skills if they are just going to beat me either way?

If you look carefully at the stat screen post-assassination, the left column shows exactly what your odds are of success. If the initial risk rating is Med, that (in my experience) means your chances are somewhere between 40% and 70%, with Low being more likely, and High being less likely.

I know there's been some complaints on the GetSatisfaction blog about apparent unfairness and inconsistency in the results like you're experiencing, so there might be some truth to your problem - only the designers can answer that one. Otherwise, one thing to be aware of is that most computers' randomization schemes are only pseudo-random; they take values from certain volatile spots in memory and plug them into a complicated formula to generate a floating point number between 0 and 1 (which can then be multiplied and rounded to whatever purpose). The good thing is you can repeat the same sequence of numbers if that's useful - but bad for being truly random. I'll leave it to the Directorate to explain further if they feel it necessary.

I'm new to this, and I don't get it. I have attempted 3 assassinations, first one I tried a Mid cause everyone suggests doing something challenging, and I failed. Seeing the stats afterward, I was outmatched. I got that, so I tried a Low opponent, just so I could see how a victory looked. I failed again, but this time, the stats weren't even close. I FAR out paced my opponent in everything. At the very least I thought having 15 spymasters (me) should be able to beat someone with only 1, someone with an attack sum of +120 (me) should beat someone with only +45. it said my odds of winning were 75%. Hrm. So I got money back, bought all new weapons and tried again. Failed again. My odds were 85% this time, all my stats crushed my opponent, and I still fail.

Like Spy Mistress said, if there's no rhyme or reason to this, it will get very frustrating very fast. What am I doing wrong??

it takes 7 or 8 hits to kill some one you cant do it on your own it needs a co-ordinated attack, Get your strongest ally to attack first and as the target weakens all take it in turns to have a go it is possible for a lowly level 1 to take out one of the big GUNS
